Main changes are:

In the free version:

- More intuitive configuration panel

the people who had issues before.
- SIP & STUN support (we only supported IAX before)
- better echo canceller than before (but still trying to improve it)
- new GUI (showing more info)
- codecs, stun settings can be done per account

The BIZ version also has some new features such as:

do conferencing between several servers / protocols), g729,
- improved API (you can acces every phone function through javascript,
.NET etc to integrate it with your own applications)

It should be already very very stable, but if you get it to misbehave
anyway, please let us know. (support@asteriskguru.com).
All feature requests for version 3 are welcome too :)

Aastra announces SIP-DECT Wireless solutions!

March 20, 2007

Aastra Launches Industry's Most Advanced Standards-Based SIP-DECT Wireless Communications Solution
Today at the Spring VON show in San Jose, CA, we unveiled our new DECT 6.0 wireless solution. Aastra SIP-DECT? is a mobility solution offering end users interference free and secure high- quality voice communications over a proven and powerful wireless technology platform.

Aastra Dect SIP phone

The Aastra SIP-DECT solution is comprised of DECT Handsets and IP DECT Access Points that are managed by OpenMobility Manager (OMM) software and provisioned on a SIP based infrastructure as simple SIP extensions.

The OMM administrates all handset and mobility activities (roaming, seamless handover and media stream) and can be installed on the IP DECT access point, on a PBX, or on a Linux-Server. The system utilizes the 1920 ? 1930 MHz unlicensed PCS (UPCS) spectrum that has been recently approved for use in North America by the FCC providing exceptional RF coverage per access point.

The Aastra SIP-DECT solution is targeted for introduction on June 1st. Due to the nature of this emerging technology, the Aastra SIP-DECT solution will only be available through a select group of qualified Distributors and Resellers. Check with your Distributor over the coming weeks for more information on product availability and qualification requirements.

Annoucing: Astxx 0.1, the Asterisk C++ Wrapper and Utility Library

March 13, 2007

Greetings,

I have finished the first version of my Astxx library after just under
two years of working on it (on and off, mostly off). The goal of Astxx
is to provide a fully functional and easy to use C++ wrapper for
Asterisk enabling developers to write Asterisk related software using
the full range of what C++ has to offer. This includes AGI scripts,
accessing the Manager API, writing ExternalIVR scripts, writing IAX
clients, and writing Asterisk modules.

Currently the library only supports AGI and parts of the Manager
Interface. ExternalIVR will probably be the next thing I do.

The code can be downloaded from http://matt-land.com/astxx or from my
monotone repository (instructions on the website). Most of the
functionality is documented. If you are interested, please check it out
and send feedback.

P.S. Sorry for the cross post, please cc me on replies as I am not
subscribed to asterisk-users, I am only on asterisk-dev.

Asterisk 1.4.1 and Spandsp – Working at last!

March 4, 2007

Well ladies and gentlemen. As per my previous posting about Asterisk and SpanDSP, it appears that good things eventually do come to those who wait :).

Spandsp is now working (only tested app_rxfax thusfar) with Asterisk 1.4.1. Here are the steps I took to make it work.

Asterisk 1.4.1 released!

March 3, 2007

The Asterisk and Zaptel development teams have released Asterisk 1.4.1.

This release contains a very large number of bug fixes, including a fix for the recently discovered security vulnerability.

It also contains a complete rewrite of the Shared Line Appearance (SLA) support that was first released as part of Asterisk 1.4.0. The new version of this functionality has been tested against a variety of phones and provides much more flexibility and configurability (along with actually working properly in most scenarios, which the original implementation failed to do). Users who are interested in SLA functionality should update to this version and try it out; we welcome bug reports and test reports.

Because of the security vulnerability fix present in this version, all users of Asterisk 1.4 are urged to update as soon as they can schedule it.

Thanks for your support of Asterisk and Zaptel!

Zaptel 1.2.15 Released!

March 3, 2007

The Asterisk and Zaptel development teams have released Zaptel 1.2.15.

This release contains a significant Astribank (XPP) driver update,
support for Digium's TE120P card, and various bug fixes.

Thanks for your support of Asterisk and Zaptel!
