Nevertheless, PhoneFusion, the innovator of third-generation VoIP services, extends outstanding features unrivaled by other service providers. The Unsung Hero ? Your Phone System
June 2, 2010
Your phone system. It's something that you probably don't think about very much. In fact it's probably something that you take for granted. A lot. As an entrepreneur, small business owner, or a corporate fugitive just starting out, you're (almost always) more preoccupied with issues that you've deemed more important. You're accustomed to using your cell phone as your primary business line; and while you've put in a dedicated phone line or two in your home office it's not exactly one of those things that you put that much thought into. Moreover, if you've always worked for someone else that phone (and all the related hardware behind it) has been an item that has "always been there".
Until it's not.
After a while, having just a cell phone is no longer the most convenient aspect of your business because being at the instant beck and call of all of your customers isn't especially conducive to your sanity. That second phone line you put in is now intermittently picked up by your kids, which doesn't send the greatest image of professionalism. And the idea of rushing to a phone every time it rings simply causes too many interruptions. If you've experienced any or all of the above, perhaps even in one day, you might arrive at the conclusion that you really do need to be responsible for your own phone system. Unfortunately, the task of implementing the right solution is just plain daunting and, at best, supremely frustrating.
And why is that? Because telephony is filled with a plethora of acronyms and terminology that can be confounding – even the choice of what kind of phone to purchase is migraine-inducing. POTS, SIP or VoIP? Single-line, multi-line, wireless, or soft phone? Hosted PBX, virtual pbx, or IP PBX? Integrated conferencing or a conferencing service? DID? Queues? Hunt groups? Huh? "… I need a virtual receptionist? Really? I don't even have a budget for one of those!?!…" "Wait…I thought an asterisk was a punctuation mark?…"
So what if you could allay all of those issues? What if that "industrial strength" phone system that's a part of almost every major enterprise could be a part of every small business? What if the phone system that you decided to implement for your little empire could actually be a useful part of your business? Oh…and what if it was also relatively inexpensive to implement? That's not a half-bad idea is it?
Well, it can. It's called a hosted pbx. And it's what our next blog entry will hope to set straight, once and for all.
A2Billing: How Do We Compare?
June 1, 2010
We are often asked how DTH VoIP Billing Software compares to a2billing. This question usually comes from customers who are using a2billing but are looking for a more comprehensive alternative, or customers who are starting a new business and are evaluating the different telecom billing systems available.
In this article, we will attempt to highlight the primary differences between a2billing and DTH VoIP.
Architecture
At the architectural level, a2billing is what we would refer to as a bundled system. i.e. the switch and the billing software are on the same server and share resources. This configuration is low-cost but it introduces performance, scalability and security concerns.
Running both your switch and your billing operations on the same server will also introduce performance issues as both systems are competing for the same resources.
As a bundled system, it is limited to the scalability that can be achieved using a single server only.
Having to open billing-related ports (HTTP, HTTPS, etc) on your switch will encourage malicious individuals to attempt to compromise your server.
The DTH VoIP billing system is what we would refer to as stand-alone. i.e. it is independent of the switch (or switches) and makes use of APIs to integrate with whatever switch or PBX is being used. It runs on its own server(s) and has dedicated resources. Although this scenario has higher start-up cost, it offers greater performance, security, scalability and integration opportunities.
Codebase
A2billing is an open-source project lead by a single individual with code contributed from various programmers.
Our system is a commercial application designed and built by a team of development and support staff. As such, we provide scheduled releases and dedicated support via email, phone, and remote desktop.
Interoperability
Interoperability is another key difference between our systems. A2billing was built specifically for use on Asterisk and currently does not operate with any other switches/PBX systems.
Our system, on the other hand, uses standardized APIs to interface with whatever switch/PBX is required for the deployment in question. This approach affords you the flexibility to use whichever switch (or switches) best suits your needs at given time in your business life cycle; giving you more control over your future growth.
Summary
A2billing may be suitable for sites who intend to use Asterisk and only expect limited growth.
Our solution can work for you at the start of your business and stay with you as you grow to support thousands of concurrent calls per server.
Our system is geared towards deployments that may need to interface with multiple switches and require a higher level of scalability, integration, interoperability and customization.
DTH VoIP Billing system is ideally suited for companies providing service to residential, wholesale and small business customers including hosted PBXs. Get here telecom billing software that you want for your business.

We have two OmniPCX's at two seperate sites, plus one Siemens really mature thing at our biggest site. The 3 sites will soon be migrating into one big site. Instead of buying a new system, we be wondering if we could put one of the Alcatels at the new site, setup IP phones at the site it's removed from (4 users...) later link up to the 2nd site beside the Alcatel - so that when they move over - we can migrate them as and when as the system is already in place. Then when the end site moves we can leave the frail siemens system behind and get hold of new handsets to blend up to the alcatel. I know it'll take up to 236 connections, we don't entail that many - but close too (inc analogue). Also, can two be run on impossible to tell apart site, so to take the connections up to 472 connections - if stipulation be. Thanks in mortgage.

A Cisco Training Course
June 1, 2010
Rapid and trustful communication systems have become a norm in the modern world. For this reason, people are increasingly dependent on communication tools like the internet and the telephone which are the two major branches of the communication industry.
The telephone allows you to talk directly to anyone in any part of the world be it your friends, family or your clients. It is not only quick it is quite dependable too. This is such an important tool that now it has become one of the basic necessities in every home and business. Businesses depend quite a lot on this mode of communication and their life would get stranded without connectivity through a telephone.
The internet has also capture the world by storm through its ability to provide super fast and consistent means of communication. The amazing factor to the internet is all the applications that it offers for communication can be accomplished with very low cost. People can keep connected with other people through emails and chat.
The modern times has seen another advance in the field of communication by providing the latest communication tool, the Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) or the Internet Voice. This is very similar to talking over the regular telephone but it is much more advanced. This has become so popular in the modern times that people are seriously contemplating eliminating the use of the regular telephone and switching over entirely to the VoIP system.
VoIP is far superior to the conventional telephone in that it provides many more features and advantages which the latter cannot even dream about. VoIP is through the internet and the voice signals are converted into digital format and then transmitted to the other person. The digital format of the voice signals ensures that there is no loss of voice quality and the communication is quicker and crystal clear as compared to a regular telephone conversation.
A great attraction that VoIP provides is the cost factor. Using this system, a person can make long distance calls to any other place in the world at a very low price or even for free. When compared to calls made long distance over the regular telephone, the communication is much faster, clearer and much cheaper when using the VoIP service. So, you will end up with lesser bills over the month in comparison to using the regular telephone line.
VoIP provides other advantages too. Let us suppose you require a PBX in your organization. If you purchase one to be used with your regular telephone line, it will be quite expensive. But, if you purchase one and use it over the VoIP system, it will be much cheaper and highly consistent. The functioning of the PBX system is similar in both the modalities but if the PBX is used with the VoIP system, it will be through the internet rather than through the telephone line.
VoIP is easily obtainable in today's times. You can find many service providers marketing the services on the internet who will provide business VoIP. But, if the purpose is to install VoIP system at home or if your intention is to make VoIP a career path, you will have to learn about setting up the VoIP system.
Installing a VoIP system is taught by Cisco Training Courses which has several such courses, one of them the Asterisk VoIP Hosted PBX.
If you opt for this course, you will be provided with all the training materials you will require to understand the process of setting up a VoIP system in any kind of setup. VoIP is beneficial for residential and business purposes. But, Asterisk VoIP Hosted PBX is more suitable for big organizations in meeting their communication needs.
Cisco provides all relevant information about the various VoIP PBX systems that are available and their utility. Using the Asterisk VoIP Hosted PBX, one can integrate all the phone lines in the organization into a single channel for communication that uses the internet to route the calls.
IP PBX is a powerful tool for communication within any office setup. Using this piece of hardware, the entire organization's communication needs can be met and easily regulated.
If you are intending to take up VoIP as a career path, you need to contemplate about Cisco VoIP Training Courses. The advantage this course provides is the hands-on experience using the Asterisk VoIP Hosted PBX. VoIP is definitely a good career path what with the amount of popularity it is gaining by the day and the pace at which it is eliminating the need for regular telephones.
