Healthcare to Spend $518 Million on Infrastructure as a Service in 2015, Says In-Stat
May 6, 2012
(PRWEB) August 01, 2011
The healthcare and social services vertical includes firms providing healthcare and social assistance for individuals, which includes ambulatory healthcare services, hospitals, nursing and residential care facilities, and social assistance. Healthcare has been a growth vertical in US business markets, and recent In-Stat (http://www.in-stat.com) research supports a forecast of continued growth, with healthcare spending $ 518 million on IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) in 2015.
Overall telecom spending by the healthcare and social services vertical was just under $ 16 billion in 2010. Wireless is the largest of the product categories, comprising about 40% of telecom spending. Cloud computing and managed services is the fasting growing component. Wireline data and wireline voice comprise the remainder of the telecom spend.
The healthcare vertical segment, across all sizes of business, and across nearly all product groups, is fast becoming the most robust business vertical segment in US business markets, says Greg Potter, Analyst. Demand for cloud computing services in particular has exploded and we see nothing that would indicate that the trend wont continue at least through 2015.

VoIP Innovations has a business model that is uniquely different than those of traditional carriers. VoIP Innovations offers their own termination routes as well as routes from dozens of the top US and Canadian termination carriers. This upgrade was necessary for the growing demand that would allow several of their dialer clients to have a virtually unlimited amount of concurrent call sessions.

Cassidian Communications to Display the Power of Interoperability at 2011 APCO International Conference and Expo
May 5, 2012

Temecula, California (PRWEB) August 01, 2011
Emergency communications leader Cassidian Communications, an EADS North America company, announced today that it will showcase its CORP25 digital trunked P25 Land Mobile Radio (LMR) solution, as well as next-generation NG9-1-1 solutions for public safety in booth #1211 of the 77th 2011 Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International Conference and Expo in Philadelphia, PA, August 7 -10.
Quickly becoming a rising star in both the industry and the companys full-circle security and communications portfolio, the 100% standards-compliant, CORP25 radio solution is the industrys only true non-proprietary P25 solution. Completely open, the CORP25 solution enables full interoperability and supports true choice in both ecosystem vendors and subscriber unit hardware. This allows agencies to select best-in-class components through competitive procurements, ultimately lowering the total cost of network ownership. IP-based, the CORP25 radio solution also enables simple and efficient network management, as well as cost-effective migration to future applications and services.
Visitors to the booth will also learn about the companys vision for interoperable P25-LTE (Long Term Evolution) solutions, as well as experience demonstrations on Push-to-Talk, Video over LTE and new LTE devices. The Cassidian Communications CORP25 radio solution will also be showcased in the Alcatel-Lucent booth (#835), as part of a multi-party voice, data and video collaboration demonstration using P25 and LTE devices.
On June 16th, 2011, NG9-1-1 took a giant step forward with the ratification of the NENA i3 document (Functional and Interface Standards for Next Generation 9-1-1, Standard 08-002 v1 and 08-003 v1) as the sole NG9-1-1 network architecture and interface standard The global shift to broadband, Internet Protocol (IP)-based communications and services, such as the internet, instant messaging, text messaging, video, and voice-over-IP (VoIP) required a commensurate shift in 9-1-1 service standards. It is important for PSAPs to now implement only ESInets and associated interfaces which strictly and fully adhere to the i3 standard. Unfortunately, there are networks, network protocols and solutions being sold as i3 compliant which may in fact continue to utilize legacy network core elements (such as ALI) and transitional protocols. The Cassidian Communications i3 Compliance Checklist, that is now available, provides a few simple questions that should allow agencies to quickly identify true i3-compliant solutions.
The next generation of emergency communications management will rely on the seamless integration of systems, applications and devices that may be from the same company or a variety of companies, said Darrin J. Reilly, chief operating officer, Cassidian Communications. Our strategy focuses on open, interoperable, IP-based solutions that offer our customers true choice and customization, and provide the most efficient means to increase the integration and management of mission-critical data and applications through the entire lifespan of an emergency response communication. The end game is to ultimately increase operational efficiency, lower the total cost of ownership in these challenging budgetary times and improve public safety response.
The power of interoperability will also be demonstrated with Cassidian Communications multimedia emergency communications solution that offers a new approach to public safety situational awareness based on advanced Command and Control capabilities previously accessible only to elite military agencies. This visionary concept solution is built on an advanced multi-sensory platform that sets a new standard for how much information can be presented and managed without overwhelming the user, and uses state-of-the-art technology to preview capabilities expected to be widely available in the coming years.
Cassidian Communications will also be presenting at several sessions including:
How to Minimize Downtime and Maximize Service When System Components Fail, Monday, August 8 at 12:00 pm
Gaining Perspective on NG9-1-1, Tuesday, August 9 at 1:15 pm
